Turning the Tide (Stamp Series) - Original Artwork

Turning the Tide is the first piece in the Stamp Series, a one-of-a-kind mixed media collage that brings together monoprint and paper collage in a layered, tactile composition.

At its centre sits a clover monoprint, a symbol often associated with luck and quiet resilience, printed by hand and carrying the soft unpredictability unique to the process. Surrounding it are considered tonal blue papers, including a fragment of sea, creating a sense of movement and depth that shifts across the surface.

A small speck of gold is embedded within the composition, catching the light and offering a subtle moment of contrast against the cooler palette.

As with all works in the series, the piece is built through layering around a Royal Mail stamp, this one marking the Millenium. Balancing control with chance, and structure with fluidity. The result feels both calm and in motion, hinting at change, transition, and the quiet turning of something unseen.
